Bad Start To The Kolkata Trip

Kolkata Diaries is a detailed journal kinda travel blog about 4 students who travelled to Kolkata for an award function. But didn’t know an adventure was awaiting them. Read to know what happens and how their trip went on.

Click on the link to read aout Indore Diaries https://theinnocentkido.wixsite.com/theinnocentkido/blog/categories/indore-diaries We had to appear for our ATKT paper because we hadn’t appeared for our 1st paper of Semester 4, as we were in Indore and the event day was clashing. We were happy to know that we have had been nominated and invited at Kolkata at the ‘Great Indian Film Festival'. So we informed Preethi Ma’am our HOD of BAMMC department, told her our event dates and the dates we might leave and arrive back to Mumbai. We were heartbroken when we were warned that ATKT exams would be in the same week. Here again the exam dates were clashing with our event dates, like our Kalakari Event at Indore. On our second last day of exam we met Meha Ma’am(exam committee) wrote a letter , waiting for the reply that we’d get on Saturday i.e on the last day of our exam. We were just hoping that exam dates didn’t clash with our event dates again. We got a green signal to book our tickets to Kolkata(Howrah). Later, after enjoying our vacations we got our timetable of ATKT exam and we were anxious, worried.

But were later relieved when we seen the dates but again were worried as we had expected to give the exam after we returning back from Kolkata, but now it was prior to our trip. It was like a boon and a curse at the same time. Boon because it was before our trip, so we go worry free; and a curse because we hadn’t studied anything. We had our exam on 19th April 2023 and we leaving for Kolkata on 23rd April 2023. After giving our exams without studying anything we were just hoping for a miracle. 23rd April arrived and I hadn’t even packed my bag until 23rd afternoon I last minute packed it. We met at Borivali Station and planned to go to CSMT from Goregaon station. I had to wait as my friend Sayyam was getting me his tie (yes I wore a bow at the event, because I made last minute changes). As Sayyam got late we had to leave many trains, but there came a point where I told my friends to board the train as I would come later, but as Hetanshi was coming to help me(she wanted to take my bag so I could run and climb in the train) the train left and alone Snehi was stuck with her luggage + Hetanshi’s luggage. I felt bad for both of them as one of them wanted to help me and the other was alone stuck with so many bags. We met Sayyam at last, sad for him he couldn’t find the platform 2.

We later were leaving Goregaon station and in that hurry Hetanshi slipped and fell from the stairs. Our friend Sakshi boarded the train from Thane station and we’re all set to go. Coming to the next day we were in the train we had ordered lunch service at the Nagpur station had a great lunch. In the evening played ludo (typical Indians In trains). We experienced rainfall in regions of Champa (Chhattisgarh), water had seeped into the train (god knows how) there was chaos in the train and stuff. The next morning I had misplaced and lost my spectacles only to realize had dropped them under some uncle’s bedding (he was sleeping on the train floor). Was supposed to reach Howrah station at 6:00am. But train kept on getting late/delayed. And we finally reached Howrah station at around 2:00pm.
